Say So

Notice

God may already be at work.

Sometimes we recognize God's work while it is happening. Sometimes we see it only when we look back. Testimony often begins by learning to notice what we might otherwise overlook.

Start here

Look back without forcing an answer.

You do not need to search for something dramatic or connected to a prayer request. God's work is often found in ordinary moments. Begin simply by asking what happened and what stands out now.

Give it time

Some stories become clear only later.

A closed door, a difficult season, an unexpected friendship, or even a disappointment may look different in hindsight. Sometimes the meaning of an experience unfolds slowly.

Ways to notice

God's work is not always dramatic.

These are not formulas. They are simply places where people often recognize God's faithfulness when they slow down and reflect.

Timing

A delay, an interruption, an unexpected opportunity, or something arriving at just the right moment.

Guidance

A clearer direction, a closed door, wise counsel, or a growing sense of what the next step should be.

Provision

Something you needed was supplied through a person, an opportunity, an idea, or an unexpected resource.

Protection

Looking back, you may recognize that a danger was avoided, a path was redirected, or circumstances unfolded differently than you expected.

Peace

The circumstances may not have changed, but your fear, anxiety, or uncertainty did.

A changed heart

A new desire to forgive, apologize, serve, trust, let go, or choose a different path.

People

A conversation, friendship, encouragement, correction, or act of kindness arrived when you needed it.

Scripture

A Bible passage became personal, timely, or clearer than it had been before.

Endurance

You received strength to keep going even when the difficulty itself did not disappear.

Hindsight

Only later did you realize that God had been leading, protecting, teaching, or preparing you.

Questions for reflection

What do you see when you look back?

What happened that stood out to me?
What was on my heart or mind at the time?
Did anything change in me, around me, or in my circumstances?
Was there unusual timing, help, peace, guidance, or protection?
Did a person, conversation, or Bible passage become especially meaningful?
Is there something I understand now that I did not understand then?
Where might God have been working even though I did not recognize it at the time?
Is there something from this experience I do not want to forget?

A simple practice

Pause. Look back. Write down one thing.

For the next seven days, pause once each evening and write down one moment that stood out. You do not have to decide immediately what it means. Simply record what happened, what you felt or noticed, and anything you do not want to forget.

Over time, patterns may emerge. What seemed ordinary at first may become part of a larger story of God's faithfulness.

A simple rhythm

Notice. Remember. Say So.

Notice

Pay attention to what is happening, including the quiet and ordinary moments.

Remember

Keep the experience from disappearing into the past. Write it down and return to it.

Say So

When you begin to recognize God's faithfulness, tell the story simply and truthfully.

You may already have a story worth remembering.

It does not have to be dramatic or completely understood. Start with what happened and what you are beginning to see.
